Quantum Dot Light-Emitting Diodes (QLEDs) present exciting possibilities for next-generation display technologies owing to their high brightness and wide color gamut, potential for low power consumption and fast response times. I will present my research on transport layer, ligand, and interfacial engineering for improving the brightness and quantum efficiencies of QLEDs, including bottom-up engineering of the quantum dot to the film and device level. I will share the process challenges and design improvements along the way that enabled performance breakthroughs in the devices, as well as outlook for the future.
