Humankind, guided by the scientific community, continues to face a gigantic battle to limit the coronavirus SARS-CoV2 pandemic, which has resulted as of today in almost 7 million deaths worldwide. In spite of the remarkable mitigation of health system crisis, mostly accomplished due to successful vaccination programs, the life-changing consequences persist in our societies. Albeit the worst period of the pandemic is seemingly over, we all should take a moment to retrospectively double-check the veracity of the received information, and optimally, further widen our knowledge about virus biology for a better preparation for potential unforeseen upcoming viral pandemics.

What and how is a virus?, How does the immune system combat viruses?, or How do vaccines work? are not easy-to-answer questions for the vast majority of the population despite of viruses constitute a threaten to all of us. The comprehensive divulgation of the fundamentals of viruses is a need for mind sharpening of the population lacking background in biomedical sciences, certainly improving their rationale behind personal decision making concerning public health issues related to viral infections. Thus, we welcome you to join us to this interactive talk about virology at RCC-Harvard where all the above-mentioned and other questions will be in-depth addressed.
