Pablo is from central Virginia, a state that helped develop his interest in civics and history. Virginia, USA is one of his many homes alongside Jutiapa, Guatemala and Galicia, Spain. His father is Guatemalan, and his mother is Spanish. Most of his family still lives in these two countries. At Harvard, Pablo is deciding between Economics, Social Studies, Government, and History as potential concentrations. He volunteers with the IOP’s Citizenship Tutoring Program and helps recent green card recipients prepare for the citizenship process.

He is interested in languages, economics, the social sciences, and contemporary events. He is particularly intrigued by the politics of Europe and North America, economics, nationalism, education, and identity in Galicia and Guatemala, and the applications of restorative/retributive justice after countries have liberalized. This year he has taken courses in economics, mathematics, and legal doctrine.
