Miguel Ángel Jordán
Miguel Ángel Jordán is assistant professor at the Department of English and German Philology of Valencia. In 2015 he defended his dissertation “Northanger Abbey. Analysis of the film adaptation and the translation for dubbing and subtitling” in the Master’s of Creative and Humanistic Translation of the University of Valencia in which he received the Masters Special Award. In 2017 he presented his PhD Thesis “Analysis of the literary style of Jane Austen”.
He is a published author of young adult’s fiction, historical novel and personal and professional growth books. He is the Vice President of the Jane Austen Society of Spain.
His teaching has focused mainly on English Language and Literature, and he has also taught ESP in the Degree of Tourism Studies and History and Culture of English Speaking Countries in the Degree of English Studies.
At the present time he is a member of the Research Institute on Applied Linguistics (IULMA) and belongs to the SILVA group (Support for Investigation in Language Variation Analysis). His main fields of research include Corpus Linguistics, Discourse Analysis, Translation, Second Language Acquisition, educational innovation, didactics and creative writing. He has published several articles related to the research areas mentioned above.
