Manuel Iglesias Soilan
Manuel Iglesias Soilán holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the Complutense University of Madrid, with co-supervision from Harvard University. He has further expanded his expertise through specialized training programs in Teaching and Learning (University of Buenos Aires, 2022), Educational Innovation (Harvard, 2024), and Business Administration (Harvard, 2023 and 2024).
He served as a university educational advisor for three academic years at the University Guidance Service of Complutense University. Subsequently, he was awarded a predoctoral fellowship by Complutense University and the Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard University, focusing his doctoral research on university teaching and learning. Currently, he is a faculty member at the Complutense University of Madrid, a visiting fellow of the Instructional Movesproject at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and co-chair of the University Teaching and Learning in the 21st Century Study Group at the Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard University.
His research focuses on university teaching and learning processes, exploring topics such as academic emotions, student engagement, and instructional methodologies, as well as investigating the definitions of “good” faculty and “good” students. He has presented his work at numerous international conferences and academic publications and has conducted research stays at institutions such as Stanford and Harvard.
Beyond academia, he was recognized as one of the 60 Young Leaders for Education by Banco Santander (2023) out of 30,000 candidates. He was also awarded the Te Atreves prize by FEVOCAM for his educational project on university volunteerism in the Community of Madrid. Additionally, he spearheaded the first TEDxUCM event and has participated in educational cooperation and knowledge transfer projects in Latin America, including Bolivia and Mexico.
