Isabel Ortiz-Marcos
Professor Isabel Ortiz-Marcos is an Associate Professor at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and currently serves as the Delegate of the President to the USA and Canada, with the UPM office located at the Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard University. She holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering and has spent over three decades advancing project management, leadership, and quality systems, guiding students, professionals, and institutions through complex transformations with a focus on excellence and collaboration.
Her research examines global competences, leadership, and quality management, with an emphasis on human-centered and sustainable approaches to project management. She has published extensively, led research contracts and development projects, and fostered collaboration between academia and industry.
At UPM, she founded and directed the Leadership and Technology Center (2020–2025), promoting initiatives to strengthen leadership skills in a digital and multicultural world. She has also served as Deputy Vice-Rector for Academic and International Planning and as Director of the International Office of the School of Industrial Engineering, contributing to UPM’s internationalization and innovation agenda.
