Guillermo Palao Moreno
He was born in Valencia. Full University Professor of Private International Law. Graduated in Law and Doctor in Law by the University of Valencia. He received the special award of Doctoral Studies.
He has developed his research activity at the: University of Rome “La Sapienza”, Max-Planck-Institut für Ausländisches und Internationales Privatrecht (Hamburg), Harvard Law School (Cambridge), Peace Palace Library (the Haia), and the Insitute Suisse de de Droit Comparé (Lausanne). He is a founding member of the R&D Group, Intellectual and Industrial Property of the University of Valencia, and member of the R&D Group, MedArb non-judicial dispute-settlement schemes of the University of Valencia, he also participates in the Research Microcluster “Innovation, Internationalisation and Knowledge Transfer for a Sustainable Economy, MCI’”, as a part of VLC/Campus. He has recognised thre periods of six years on research work.
His teaching career is focused on subjects of the Double Degree in Law +Business Management, The Master’s Degree in Law, Business and Justice, the Master’s Degree in International and European Studies of the University of Valencia. He also teaches Postgraduate courses at numerous American and European universities. He has recognised four periods of five years on teaching.
He was Secretary of the Faculty of Law (1995-1996), Secretary of the Department “Adolfo Miaja de la Muela” of International Law (200-2008), Delegate for the Principal for Cooperation and President of South-North Trust (2010-2014). From 1988 to 1990 he held various posts of responsibility (from President at Spanish level to member of the International Board), at ELSA (The European Law Students Association), association from which he was founding member. He is also member of the “Real Academia de Jurisprudencia y Legislación”, associated member of the “International Academy of Comparative Law” and Fellow of the “European Law Institute”. He is also chairperson of the Valencian Committee for European Issues and of the section of “International and European Law”, from the “Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Valencia” (Valencian Association of Lawyers). Since the last elections of November at the University, he is once again, member of the Senate.
