Cristina Tejedor Martínez

Cristina Tejedor Martínez is a faculty member at the Universidad de Alcalá (Madrid) since 1991 and Senior Lecturer at the Modern Languages Department since 2001. She lecturers Terminology, Lexicology, Lexicography, Semantics, Morphology of the English Language and Second Language Teaching; although she has also taught Phonology, Phonetics and English for Specific Purposes. She was granted a SPECIAL AWARD DEGREE when finishing her BA; afterwards, a DOCTORAL SCHOLARSHIP (Research Staff Sector Program of the Ministry of Education and Science) to pursue her PhD; and, in 2002, she was awarded the prize “Jóvenes Investigadores (YOUNG RESEARCHERS AWARD)” at Universidad de Alcalá.

She has been a Visiting Fellow in the Centre for Advanced Research in English, University of Birmingham (Great Britain); Santa Barbara University (US); University of Limerick (Ireland) and Western Sydney University (Australia). She has taken part in specialised seminars, workshops, and courses in several Universities and institutions.

She has also been a member of the editorial/advisory board of several international journals, such as ATLANTIS, RESLA, RÆL-REVISTÆLECTRÓNICA DE LINGÜÍSTICA APLICADA, and INTERNATIONAL COMPUTER ASSISTED LANGUAGE LEARNING; and she has been a member of Council/Editorial Committee of ENGLISH STUDIES COLLECTION, Comares Publishing House and the electronic Journal “DIDÁCTICA DE LA TRADUCCIÓN Y LA INTERPRETACIÓN”. She is a member of AEDEAN (Spanish Society for English and American Studies), currently being the coordinator of the panel ”New Technologies”, and AESLA (Spanish Society for Applied Linguistics) organizations.
