Clara Viloria Hernández

Clara Viloria Hernández is a PhD student in the Music Department at Harvard University. She studied Musicology in the University of Valladolid (Spain) and the Université Catholique de l’Ouest in Angers (France), as well as a violin degree at the Conservatory of Music of Valladolid. After that, she studied a Master’s degree in the University of Valladolid. She also holds a degree in Performing Arts Management from the Université de Lorraine and the Opéra National de Lorraine. She has worked in music management in France, namely at the Conservatoire de Lille, the Orchestre National de Lille and Le Concert d’Astrée. She received a research grant to work for a year in the Music Department of the National Library of Spain (Biblioteca Nacional de España) during 2016 and 2017. Before coming to Harvard, she started her research at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She was awarded a La Caixa Fellowship for Graduate studies in the United States. Her research focuses on Early Modern music history, and specifically on 17th century musical theatre, court music and court performances, as well as international relationships at the time (specially between France and Spain).
