As Assistant to the Vice-Provost for International Affairs, Cooperation and Volunteering, Otero García-Castrillón, supports and assists the Vice-Provost in the establishment and monitoring of academic, cultural, or scientific relationships of the Complutense University with foreign institutions and the development of international academic and scientific cooperation programs. In particular, Otero García-Castrillón supports the academic relations with European university alliances (where Una Europa has a significant relevance) and the participation in their governing or management bodies on behalf of the University.
Otero García-Castrillón's research departs from commercial foreign affairs and leads, from the classic Private International Law issues (Conflicts of Laws and International Civil Procedure) towards International Economic Law and International Business Law. Hence, the regulation of international trade by the WTO, regional economic integration processes, in particular the trade policy of the European Union, and international investments and contracting are addressed and form part of her teaching subject matters. She is the author of a number of books, books' chapters and articles in specialised journals (in English and Spanish), many of them in open access (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lPOnjQjcTr3Np9zFpti9ufOmdwa4xD5u/view). She is the Director of the Revista Electrónica de Estudios Internacionales and serves as an evaluator for different international law journals and for the Spanish national and regional education administrative authorities.
