Arnau Marin-Llobet (arnaumarin.github.io) started his PhD in Engineering at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences in 2023. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2022 from UPC-BarcelonaTech (Barcelona, Spain). His academic experience also includes roles as research stem fellow in Anthropic, and visiting researcher at Apple, the University of Utah, and the University of Montreal.  

 

He works primarily with Demba Ba, Mahzarin Banaji and others. His research is centered on understanding how intelligent systems work and how it makes decisions, approached from both the cognitive and the mechanistic side. To do this, he pioneered computational methods (including autonomous agents and other AI-based approaches) to probe and interpret brain neural activity. Most recently, he has extended this interpretability-driven approach to language models, working to support safer and more reliable AI systems.
