Alfonso Andrés García Soto

Alfonso received his PhD on Physics working at IFAE (Barcelona) in 2017, and he was a postdoctoral fellow in NIKHEF (Amsterdam) until 2021. He is currently a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Fellow working on a joint project between Harvard University and Universitat de València.

He is part of the Astroparticle Physics Frontier Group, which is led by Dr. Carlos Argüelles. His work focuses on understanding the nature of a fundamental particle called neutrino. In fact, he has been part of several international collaborations (IceCube, KM3NeT, T2K and GENIE), which study this ultra-faint particle. Throughout his career, he has gathered experience in data analysis, computational techniques and statistical methods.

One of the goals of the project is describe his work to other audiences, focusing on the Hispanic community in Harvard, via outreach activities and educational videos. 

He is a passionate sport person who loves mountains, bikes and basketball. He is also into cooking and playing guitar.
