5 Years on: A Stocktaking of the Juncker Commission

This event will review what the European Commission has achieved (or not) in this Commission term heading into the European elections in May of 2019.

The speakers will focus first on a general overview on all priorities and the state of affairs of the EU up to the moment right before the elections and then they will shift the focus to some of the priorities, including the democratic change priority -via an exploration of the Commission´s better regulation efforts- and on progressive trade policy to harness the promises of globalization; the climate and energy priority and the jobs, growth and investment priority.  Finally, in the discussion speakers will also share their views on the future of the Union in all matters related to policies and priorities to be followed in 2019 and beyond. 

This event is the final Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government Senior Fellow-led Study Group session by Elizabeth Golberg, Senior Fellow at the MRCBG. Golberg's presentation will include a summary of her work on Better Regulation and regulatory cooperation at the MRCBG at Harvard Kennedy School.
