Carlos Rodríguez Casillas (Cáceres, 1982), who earned his Ph.D. from the University of Extremadura in 2019, specializes in frontier warfare during the Middle Ages. His expertise focuses on the active military zone of Extremadura, situated between Portugal and Castile, during the 14th and 15th centuries. With a diverse perspective on the study of warfare, he delves into the consequences of war in the Middle Ages. In this talk, Carlos will vividly describe the impact that military conflicts had on medieval people, using the Crown of Castile as the primary scenario.
