Machine Learning to Predict Inpatient Deterioration and Alert Clinicians: From Raw Data to Clinical Implementation

Date and Time

March 3, 2020
12:00PM - 01:00PM EST

Location

Countway Medical Library, 4th Floor, Room 424, Harvard Medical School

One of our RCC fellows, Santiago Romero-Brufau, MD PhD, will give the Clinical Informatics Lecture at the Harvard Medical School. He will present some of his previous work at Mayo Clinic developing and implementing a machine-learning model. The model predicts deterioration in hospitalized patients and sends an alert to physicians and nurses, and it achieved a significant reduction in the time to response, which is associated with a reduction in mortality risk.
