The Inauguration events for Harvard’s 29th president, Lawrence S. Bacow JD ’76, MPP ’76, PhD ’78, will take place on Friday, October 5, 2018, in Tercentenary Theatre at Harvard Yard. All members of the Harvard community—including faculty, students, staff, and alumni—are invited.

Academic Procession Formation
Boylston Hall
Delegates from other universities, Harvard faculty, current Harvard governing board members, and Harvard leadership participating in the academic procession should gather for procession formation at Boylston Hall. Delegates and Harvard faculty wishing to take part in the procession are requested to provide their own academic regalia.
2:00 P.M.
Academic Procession
Tercentenary Theatre, Harvard Yard
Tercentenary Theatre seating will open at 1:00 p.m. and guests should be seated for the academic procession by 1:50 p.m.
2:30 P.M.
Installation of Lawrence S. Bacow
Tercentenary Theatre, Harvard Yard
Members of the Harvard community, government and community leaders, delegates from universities across the country and around the world, and other colleagues and friends will gather together to welcome the new president at this historic ceremony.
The Bacow Block Party

Immediately following the installation program, the celebration will continue with a festive gathering open to all ceremony attendees.
