During this interactive seminar, participants will work together to 1)become familiar with the educational philosophy of dual language immersion education, the goals and benefits of immersion education, and characteristics that distinguish different immersion education models; 2)synthesize the knowledge base on immersion students' academic achievement, cognitive development and immersion language development by program model and learner background; 3) identify and discuss issues related to immersion pedagogy, program design and implementatoin; 4)Collaborate and strengthen professional networks with other immersion teachers, admnistrators, etc. in and beyond the greater Boston area.
