Engineering the Medicine of Tomorrow: From Tissue Engineering to Sustainable Healthcare
Date and Time
The future of medicine is being shaped at the intersection of biotechnology, sustainability, and global health. Tissue engineering is opening the door to designing artificial organs and functional tissues in the laboratory, offering new hope for patients with chronic diseases and injuries. Yet, advancing healthcare also means addressing its environmental challenges, such as drug pollution, which threatens ecosystems and human well-being. In this talk, we will explore how regenerative medicine and tissue engineering are redefining healthcare, while also considering the principles of One Health (the interconnection between human, animal, and environmental health). By integrating innovation with sustainability, we can envision a future where cutting-edge therapies not only save lives but also help protect our planet.
