COP25: Multilateral Responses to Climate Change from an Interdisciplinary Perspective

The Harvard University Center for the Environment (HUCE), the Environment and Natural Resources Program at the Harvard Kennedy School Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, the Institute for Sustainable Energy at Boston University and the Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard (RCC) invite you for a special UN Climate Change Conference COP25 discussion.

Climate change is the most significant environmental, ecological, and social challenge of our generation and the greatest threat for the future of humanity. The accelerated increase of our planet´s temperature has led to a rise in sea levels and the occurrence of extreme weather events such as heatwaves, droughts and torrential rain. The effects of climate change are closely linked to persistent poverty and increased inequality in many parts of the world.

As a problem for the whole planet, the fight against climate change has an evident global character and demands multilateral solutions. This United Nations Climate Conference COP25 associated event gathers top climate change scientists, scholars and policymakers to reflect upon the state of affairs going into the COP25, highlight the many challenges remaining and that should be challenged in future COPs and analyze what are the necessary multilateral responses to tackle the greatest existential threat for humankind in the coming years.
