Fernando Garrido Carreras is pursuing a Master of Architecture I at the Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD). He is originally from Madrid, where he grew up, and then moved to London, where he obtained a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with a Minor in Environmental Engineering from University College London (UCL).

He has worked for several architectural offices, such as Ábalos+Sentkiewicz in Madrid, Comte/Meuwly in Zurich, TVK in Paris, and the LADG in Los Angeles. He has also been a member of Engineers in Action and worked as design manager of the construction of the Bhekinkhosi footbridge over the Mbuluzane River in Eswatini.

Demonstrated by a collection of projects and research developed at the GSD, Fernando is interested in the intersection between global infrastructure and local architecture and their relationship to ecology. His work was recently awarded the 2023 Araldo A. Cossutta Annual Prize for Design Excellence.
