DESCRIPTION:<p>RCC is pleased to announce this talk by Prof. <a href="internal:/people/francisco-prado-vilar">Francisco Prado-Vilar</a>, RCC Fellow and Scientific Director of the <a href="internal:/santiago-cathedral-project-0">Santiago Cathedral Project</a>.<!--break--></p><p>On the occasion of the celebration of the 91st Annual Meeting of the Medieval Academy of America, which will take place on February 25-27 in Boston, Francisco Prado-Vilar, Scientific Director of the Andrew W. Mellon Santiago Cathedral Program, and member of the Academy, will offer an introduction to this prestigious institution and to the journal <em><a href="http://www.medievalacademy.org/?page=Speculum" data-url="http://www.medievalacademy.org/?page=Speculum">Speculum</a></em>. Dr. Prado-Vilar, who has been recently appointed to the editorial board of the book reviews section of <em>Speculum</em>, will discuss the history of the Medieval Academy, the opportunities it offers (grants, awards, symposia, conferences), the possibilities for publication in <em>Speculum, </em>and a preview of the program of the "91st Annual Meeting” - a conference that will gather in Boston leading international figures in medieval studies on Feb. 25-27. </p><p><a href="http://www.medievalacademy.org/" data-url="http://www.medievalacademy.org/">The Medieval Academy of America</a> is the largest organization in the United States promoting excellence in the field of medieval studies. It was founded in 1925 and is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
