Alzheimer’s Disease is the main cause of dementia in elderly population, and its prevalence is increasing every year. This neurodegenerative disease is not only affecting patients, but also their families and loved ones. In this talk, we will learn what happens in the brain of Alzheimer’s patients and how research is helping to understand the pathology underlying the clinical symptoms. Moreover, we will explore the potential treatments in the past, present and future. Lastly, we will talk about different ways of prevention that we all can address to be able to have a healthy aging. Most importantly, we will address the challenge of research to develop promising therapeutic or preventing approaches directed towards the improvement of the health spam associated with aging, Alzheimer’s Disease or related dementias.
