HELA x HLBSFI Conference on Central Bank Digital Currencies. Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and stablecoins continue to be at the forefront of the agenda of regulators, central bankers and policy-makers around the world. After three years of intense public debate and multiple governmental reports released following Facebook’s announcement to enter the stablecoin market, we believe it is time for an assessment of the status quo and an outlook into the future. Will CBDCs soon become the dominant form of money and, if so, what is the role of stablecoins that continue to rise in an unprecedented manner? Do the chances and opportunities of CBDCs and stablecoins outweigh their risks? HELA & HLSBFI are happy to invite you to a panel discussion on one of the hottest and most controversial topics currently unfolding in the crypto space. We are delighted to host some of the key experts and industry leaders on the topic, including Jess Cheng (Senior Counsel at the Federal Reserve Board), Marino Ottavio Perassi (General Counsel at the Bank of Italy), Dante A. Disparte (Chief Strategy Officer & Head of Global Policy at Circle) and Howell E. Jackson (James S. Reid, Jr., Professor of Law at Harvard Law School).

Speakers will stay after the event for a Q&A session until 13h45. For more information on the panel topics and speakers, check out the website here.

For Zoom participation please register here.

Sponsors: Harvard European Law Association, Harvard Law School Blockchain and Fintech Innitiative.
