DESCRIPTION:<p>	Organized by, <a data-url="https://harvardspain.rcc.harvard.edu/" href="https://harvardspain.rcc.harvard.edu/" target="_blank" title="">Harvard Spain</a>, the Harvard Spanish Graduate Students Association and led by <a data-url="https://rcc.harvard.edu/people/sergio-alarc%C3%B3n-robledo" href="internal:/people/sergio-alarc%C3%B3n-robledo" target="_blank" title="">Sergio Alarcón Robledo</a>, PhD Candidate in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at Harvard University, RCC Fellows at Harvard visited the Boston Museum of Fine Arts to learn about the MFA's Egyptian art collection.</p><p style="text-align: center;">	<drupal-media data-entity-type="media" data-entity-uuid="c40bdebf-84f7-4314-b3e1-794728c53365"></drupal-media></p><p>	The visit started with the new gallery dedicated to the <a data-url="https://www.mfa.org/gallery/masterpieces-of-egyptian-sculpture-from-the-pyramid-age" href="https://www.mfa.org/gallery/masterpieces-of-egyptian-sculpture-from-the-pyramid-age" target="_blank" title="">"Masterpieces of Egyptian Sculpture from the Pyramid Age."</a> The room contains some of the most important pieces retrieved during an expedition to Giza funded by Harvard and the MFA, led by George A. Reisner, Harvad Professor of Egyptology at the time.</p><p style="text-align: center;">	<drupal-media data-entity-type="media" data-entity-uuid="3f11a557-3252-4c02-b52a-8d53a84aa609"></drupal-media></p><p>	Afterwards Sergio led the fellows through the rest of the rooms and talked about topics related to funerary culture in the different eras of ancient Egypt. Many of the pieces at the MFA served as great examples for Sergio's explanations who also demonstrated how to read some hieroglyphs.
