SUMMARY:How to approach nature conservation: from species to evolutionary meaningful ecosystems
DESCRIPTION:
Traditionally, conservation strategies have been focused on hot-spots (places with high species richness, most of them placed in the tropics) and species. Within this event, we will discuss the importance of employing additional conservation criteria (e.g. functional diversity, ecosystems, evolutionary history) with a brief overview of the methods that can be used to achieve an effective preservation of biodiversity beyond taxonomy. The main goal of the event is to bring awareness on the importance of nature conservation to a general and diverse audience, as well as to spread knowledge on the challenges this field is facing and will face in the future.

	<drupal-media data-entity-type="media" data-entity-uuid="690e5c93-089b-4070-b92e-8cc23f9c710f" alt="berline"></drupal-media>

This event will be live via Zoom.
