SUMMARY:Civic Debate on the Policy Implications of Artificial Intelligence
DESCRIPTION:
The objective of Civic Debate on the Policy Implications of Artificial Intelligence is to explore the implications of Artificial Intelligence on business and policy, and inspire debate among the Spanish community at Harvard.

Artificial Intelligence is not a novel concept. It was indeed conceptualized in the 50s by a group of researchers. Many of the software programs that we currently use on a daily basis already employ this technology, such as GPS. However, Artificial Intelligence has come to the forefront of technology and policy debates as new applications emerge, and so its risks. This event will feature the Civic Debate on Artificial Intelligence, a HKS initiative from The Future Society that aims to help shape the global AI policy framework. The audience will be asked to contribute to the debate by responding general questions about the impact that AI will have on their lives.

Speakers: James H. Waldo, Chief Technology Officer for the John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Gordon McKay Professor of the Practice of Computer Science; Arohi Jain, Project Manager of the Civic Debate on Artificial Intelligence

Chair: Melina Sánchez Montañés, RCC Fellow, Government@RCC Initiative's Coordinator, MPP candidate at Harvard Kennedy School

	Please, RSVP
