Last Friday, May 3, 2019, the President of Harvard University, Lawrence S. Bacow, JD ’76, MPP ’76, PhD ’78 and the Rector from the Complutense University of Madrid, Carlos Andradas, met at Massachusetts Hall to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the RCC by signing a strategic agreement renewal that will set the course for the next decade.
During the ceremony, President Bacow emphasized the uniqueness of the RCC and its programs at Harvard University, highlighting the crucial importance demonstrated by its singularity. In turn, Rector Andradas remarked that the RCC reaffirms the interest of Spanish Higher Education in Harvard and that the renewal agreement is a celebration of three decades of a fruitful partnership and the renewed commitment of collaboration.
Over the past three decades, the RCC has provided institutional and financial support to students, researchers and faculty at all of Harvard’s schools, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) -Harvard College and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS)-, the Harvard Business School (HBS), the Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD), Harvard Divinity School (HDS), the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE), the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS), the Harvard Law School (HLS), the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH), the Harvard Medical School (HMS) and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS).
Previous to the aforementioned ceremony, Rector Andradas and the Complutense University of Madrid delegation were received by the University Marshal, Dean Margot Gill at Wadsworth House, where Rector Andradas signed the Harvard University Guest Book.
After the ceremony, the RCC Academic Council meet for its ordinary Spring Meeting. The Academic Council is the main RCC governing body and it is chaired by the President of Harvard University and the Rector of the Complutense University of Madrid.
