**Abstract:** This event will have [Joanna Ebenstein](http://www.npr.org/2014/10/31/360121273/for-morbid-anatomy-museum-founder-spooky-things-are-lifes-work), founder of [the Morbid Anatomy Museum in New York](http://designresearch.sva.edu/public/joanna-ebenstein-the-morbid-anatomy-museum/) and [J. W. Ocker](http://www.jwocker.com/), author of The New England Grimpendium and Poe-Land and webmaster of O.T.I.S. explaining the experience of having a life dedicated to this lesser-explored, sometimes neglected, side of culture, oddities, and the bizarre—and why it is so appealing to a certain public.
