Global supply chains constitute the essential infrastructure of the modern economy, yet their complexity often remains hidden until systemic failure occurs. As global volatility increases, traditional human-led logistics management is proving insufficient for the scale of modern trade. This seminar explores "The Invisible Engine": the integration of Machine Learning (ML) into global supply chain dynamics. We will examine how data-driven models are transforming logistics from a reactive process into a predictive science. The discussion moves beyond technical implementation to address the broader societal impact: how algorithmic optimization contributes to food security, environmental sustainability, and economic stability. By demystifying the role of ML in the physical world, this presentation demonstrates how the most sophisticated systems achieve success by operating seamlessly—and invisibly—behind the scenes.
