Facing health challenges like cancer, autoimmune, inflammatory and degenerative diseases requires a deep understanding of cell and tissue function. The broad field of Synthetic Biology provides strategies that enable rewiring biological systems to gain such knowledge, as well as to develop tools for early diagnostics and novel therapies.

Our RCC-HU study group explores the possibilities of Synthetic Biology in different models, from simple, genetically tractable, unicellular yeast to mammalian cells, ultimately aiming to harness the pathways that regulate homeostasis.

In our first symposium, our labs and invited collaborators will present and discuss working hypotheses and scientific results.
