The declaration of the Decade on Ecosystem Restoration aims to create a new trajectory for the relationships between societies and nature, with gender equity, local communities and future generations being central to restoration initiatives. Gender has been discussed and included in stakeholder participation in restoration projects, but scant attention has been devoted to gender bias in leadership in ecosystem restoration. In this seminar we will delve into gender bias in ecosystem restoration from science to practice, including three dimensions: academy, outreach, and project implementation. More specifically, we will see to what extent a gender bias among people leading ecosystem restoration initiatives in research, communication and projects still exists; we will explore context factors underlying gender bias in leadership, and; we will see if the impact of scientific knowledge on society depends on the gender of the scientific team. ![CIFOR](/sites/g/files/omnuum986/files/rcc/files/1643388550266.jpg)
