Join CES for the presentation of Dilek Kurban’s new book *[Limits of Supranational Justice: The European Court of Human Rights and Turkey's Kurdish Conflict](https://www.cambridge.org/us/academic/subjects/law/human-rights/limits-supranational-justice-european-court-human-rights-and-turkeys-kurdish-conflict?format=HB&isbn=9781108489324).* Drawing from scholarship on legal mobilization and supranational courts, Kurban will explore the limitations and possibilities of effective supranational oversight of authoritarian regimes engaged in state violence based on the ECtHR-Turkey case.

The book demonstrates how the Strasbourg court has failed to bring meaningful change in Turkey and calls for a differentiated approach to authoritarian regimes versus liberal democracies.
