The Observatorio of the Instituto Cervantes at Harvard, along with the Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard and the International Academic Program of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, have organized this special session to reflect on the current role of the Spanish language in scientific research, dissemination, and publication. This event, which will be held at the Real Colegio Complutense, will feature a panel of experts from various fields in science and technology, who will analyze questions such as how to approach the use of Spanish in their fields, how to expand its use without losing sight of the fields’ lingua franca (English), the challenges and opportunities this entails, and the role official institutions can play in promoting the use of Spanish in these contexts.

The session will be have two parts, with the first being focused on scientific research and communication and the second, following a short break, on scientific dissemination and transference.
