In a context of geopolitical fragmentation, economic realignment, and rising territorial inequalities, border regions are becoming key spaces for governance innovation.

This seminar explores cross-border cooperation not as a symbolic or funding tool, but as a structural mechanism to address regional asymmetries, strengthen coordination, and enhance territorial resilience.

Drawing on European and global perspectives, we will discuss the institutional conditions that make cooperation truly transformative.

**Speaker: Prof. Rui Alexandre Castanho** (*Current Vice-Coordinator of the VALORIZA Research Center & former external expert consultant for EU institutions and UN agencies)*
