The Eurozone economic crisis has reopened the legal and institutional dynamics within the EU, precisely right after considering the Constitutional Treaty crisis has been closed for decades. By participating in the current debate about "How we might recover from the economic and social crisis through European integration deepening", promoted by the invitation of President Barroso, it is clear that the EU sui generis legal and institutional dynamics are going to revel in another period of the never ending European spill over.

This study group has two main purposes, namely: a) bringing EU legal expertise to the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies, facilitating international talent attraction to its programs and creating a broader interaction base with other European centers and the EU institutions; b) boosting the relationship between the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies and HLS and transversely, with other Harvard centers currently developing legal studies, thus contributing to attract faculty and students to its programs and activities.
