The United Kingdom's vote for Brexit on June 23, 2016 was an unprecedented rejection of the European integration process by an EU Member State. But what exactly does Brexit mean? Professor Kenner will examine the process of Britain's withdrawal from the perspective of the UK and the EU 27. The talk will explore various options for a negotiated settlement open to both the UK and the EU. Is it possible for the UK to have access to the EU's Single Market with some control over people freedom of movement? If so, can this objective be achieved without Brexit and would that be desirable? If not, what alternative models for future relations are most suitable for the UK and the EU 27?
